Assessments

What is an assessment?

As a specialist teacher, I conduct a series of tests and activities which will give a profile of your child's strengths and difficulties. This will then allow me to say if their difficulties indicate dyslexia as defined by the British Dyslexia Association.

Why get an assessment?

After the assessment, you will receive a comprehensive report which details your child's strengths and difficulties. This can help the child to understand the difficulties they are experiencing and offers recommendations to help to focus your child's continuing literacy development.

What does an assessment involve?

I will complete a number of standardised tests with your child as well as some more informal assessments such as a test of free writing. The assessment process takes approximately four hours, but breaks will be taken as needed so the time scale is not definite.

How much does it cost?

An assessment costs £450. This includes travel to the venue, the full assessment, a comprehensive report and a follow up meeting to discuss the report.
