Assessments and tuition for children with dyslexia

When a child is having difficulty in reading, writing or maths, this can be very frustrating for them and can have an impact upon both their home and school life.
Our specialist approach begins with a structured reading and spelling programme; this is then tailored to meet your child's specific needs using continuous informal assessment.
For many children with dyslexia, school can be a tiring experience. Our lessons are engaging and dynamic, with each new learning point usually centred around a game. Sometimes, our pupils don't even know they have been 'working' for an hour!

What's involved?
Usually, we recommend tuition for 1 hour per week as a starting point. Some pupils will choose to have additional sessions.
Sessions start at £55/ hour, which includes the preparation time and the hour of teaching. For travel outside of Sunderland, an additional fee to cover travel time and costs will be calculated.
Sessions are usually held at your home. Some schools may agree to allow us to take your child out of a lesson (working in a similar way to an external music teacher, for example), which is particularly good for children who are very tired after school!
